This week's topic: Top 5 books that didn't live up to the hype

5. White Bird in a Blizzard by Laura Kasisckhe - I don't even remember what this book was about. But I remember that one of my favorite actresses, Shailene Woodley, was starring in the movie adaptation a few years ago, so I wanted to read the book. However, the book was very slow, very boring, and the characters were hard to relate to. So the hype around this wasn't lived up to.

4. Jurassic Park by Micheal Crichton - Why did I pick up this book knowing I don't like dinosaurs and the movies?! It's safe to say that this definitely did not live up to it's high standards.

3. Cinder by Marissa Meyer - I'm actually quite sad that this book didn't live up to its expectations, given that most of Booktube and the blogging community has read it. But I could barely read half of book one until I saw how predictable it was, and I just never finished it. Maybe Marissa's other books are better? I hear Renegades is quite good.

2. Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs - Another Booktube/book community book that the people just loved, but I thought it was simply....okay. I'd read it before I'd seen the movie and while the movie was better, I didn't feel anything major towards it. I didn't hate it, nor did I absolutely love it. I simply thought it was okay.

1. Passenger by Alexandra Bracken - Again, another hyped up book that I just found super slow and boring; the main character, I couldn't really relate and side with her. I did like the time-traveling fantasy aspect of it; it reminded me of Outlander. However, I DNFed it before I could work my way to finishing it.
