Banned Books 2019 - Books I've Never Read // TOP 5 WEDNESDAY ARCHIVES (September 25)

Banned Books Week 2019 is September 22-28, which centered around reading and discovering books that have been censored from libraries, schools and sometimes the home, from children and teens. Banned Books Week (September 22-28, 2019) is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. Typically held during the last week of September, it spotlights current and historical attempts to censor books in libraries and schools. It brings together the entire book community — librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types — in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular.

The books featured during Banned Books Week have all been targeted for removal or restriction in libraries and schools. By focusing on efforts across the country to remove or restrict access to books, Banned Books Week draws national attention to the harms of censorship. I'll admit that I haven't read a lot of banned books in my lifetime of 26 years. I have read a lot of books that I didn't know were banned in other countries, states, districts, etc. until later. Here are some banned books I have not read, whether banned or not.

Books I'm Avoiding Altogether (Not just on my TBR) // TOP TEN TUESDAY DISCUSSION

Hey, what's up, how are you doing?! I'm back again! Am I back? I don't even know.

No, really, I have no idea what I want to do with this blog or what I want to talk about. I thought I wanted to talk about books, but that's too general of a topic. I could keep making excuses for you guys as to where I've been and what I've been doing. I could make empty promises saying that I could attempt to create interesting content. But I don't want to lie anymore. I don't want to pretend everything with me is fine, but I don't want to burden you guys with my problems. I don't think I've ever felt this unsure about my blogging journey in a while. But it's thanks to your encouragement and sweet messages and comments that keep me going. Or at least get me to answer back.

BOOKENDING AUTUMN 2019 // My First Time Hosting in October!!

I'm going to be a host for Bookending Autumn 2019, for the first time ever!

If you're just now hearing about Bookending Autumn, it's basically a book blogging event, hosted by Clo @ BookDragons and Sam @ FictionallySam. The umbrella term for this month-long event is Bookend Events, which happens quarterly throughout the year: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn. It's a low-key, fun way to bring the blogging community together!
